For the superbly manufactured acetate and titanium glasses from the Hanseatic City are distinguished by something quite different: something we call typical Nordic restraint. And first-class quality. So it’s no surprise that all this understatement ultimately makes you stand out from the rest. The success extends far beyond the confines of Hamburg’s warehouse district, too: Uwe, Merle & Co. have gone on to conquer a total of 17 countries with their discreet charm. While all this sounds very impressive, Hamburg Eyewear founders Dietmar Kleis, Wolfgang Kampf and Christian Eydam haven’t let success go to their heads. You’d hardly expect anything else from this trio of true Hamburg lads.
